Business Development Manager 

Our client's heritage is one of providing specialist bespoke applications and related infrastructure to a wide range of clients for over 20 years. 

As their growth continues, so does the broadening of their solutions to ensure the applications they create, and those from third parties, are tuned and secured across the networks and infrastructure they provide to meet the goals and improvements that their customers want. 

Position: Senior Business Development Manager 
Location: Cobalt Business Park, Newcastle or home based if resides outside the North East. 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 (uncapped OTE) dependent on skills and experience

The Business Development Manager will be targeted to proactively identify and generate new business opportunities. They are looking for a highly charismatic individual to promote the company’s image in the marketplace, to initiate and build direct contacts at all levels within organisations and help convert these opportunities in to sales. 


- Optimise business growth through identifying new markets and business opportunities 
- Have a good understanding of a prospect’s business functions and requirements 
- Maintain and develop existing customer business through appropriate prospecting and business development methods 
- Take responsibility for the entire sales cycle for allocated leads and assist with others as required 
- Ability to communicate complex solutions in an appropriate manner to both business and IT professionals 
- Attend and present at client meetings to aid business development 
- Partnership management with key suppliers as required 
- Contribute and write proposals and tenders 
- Attend relevant seminars and networking events to develop business relationships 
- Assist with all marketing efforts as required 
- Help with relevant sales and marketing administrative duties, including the maintenance of the CRM system 
- This role requires national travel and they estimate this to be at least 25% of your working time. 

About you: 

- Significant professional, commercial experience in a business to business environment. 
- Must possess a full UK driving licence and have suitable transport 
- Track record in developing relationships within a B2B environment, with an emphasis on IT solutions 
- Demonstrate an understanding of relevant sales processes and how they have supported new business wins 
- Consultative sales experience; gathering and understanding business needs and recommending and advocating the right technical solution to benefit our clients business 
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish good working relationships with colleagues and clients 
- Proven ability in engaging at a senior level with both customers and prospects 
- Proven ability to produce engaging, accurate proposals 
- Broad understanding and interest in IT solutions would be highly beneficial 
- High level business / IT contacts 
- Excellent computer literacy and accuracy
