Commercial Account Handler
Our client, a General Insurance and IFA Practice has a vacancy in Newcastle Upon Tyne for a Commercial Account Handler. The role will involve acting as a broking assistant to a nominated Account Executive in the Newcastle office. Will prepare renewal schedules and contact the client prior to renewal within compliance manual timescales. Negotiate alternative quotes - prior to renewal dates, where appropriate. Will deal with all documentation, invoices, credit notes etc. ensuring a smooth and trouble-free renewal for the client. Foster good relations with insurance companies. Ensure that the company's delegated authority under agency agreements is not exceeded. Will operate an effective credit control system and report as required.
Will possess between 3-5 years broking experience (not insurance company), preferably with experience in either High Net Worth personal lines, farm insurance and/or in property and liability insurance. Knowledge of a wide range of commercial insurance products and companies. Experience in obtaining information from clients via telephone and e-mail. Experience in obtaining quotes and placing business. Good confident customer skills - both written and oral. Good negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers/underwriters. Good organisational ability. Sound knowledge of FCA requirements within a broking role. A well presented, hard working, proactive team player with initiative. The position would suit someone satisfied in an office-based role and happy to work within a tight knit team. Confident with Word and (especially) Excel. Experience with the OpenGI broking software. Will hold or be prepared to work towards Insurance Qualifications. Our client encourages, supports and rewards CII qualification.
