Section Head/ Section In-charge - Production £ 27,000 - £30,000 per annum Luton, Bedfordshire & Peterlee, Durham

As a result of continued growth and expansion, we have an excellent opportunity to appoint Section Head/Section In-charge - Production in Luton & Peterlee.

About the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Granulation-blending / Compression-Coating / Capsule department related activities.

  • Sound technical knowledge of the operation of granulation-blending/ tabletting - coating/ Capsule Filling and associated activities for Tablets-Powder /Capsule dosage form.

  • Experience of Planning and Inventory control

  • Ensuring and Maintaining record of efficiency in productivity, deliverables and other key performance indicators

  • Knowledge of GMP guidelines

  • Compliance to and Maintaining documentation related to SOPs, Batch Records, Environmental monitoring, qualifications, validations, calibrations

  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety matter related to the factory operations

  • Ensuring compliance to hygiene practices by staff

  • Knowledge of process validation expectations

  • Ensure the qualification and maintenance of equipment, area and other systems as applicable

  • Ensure the required initial and continual training of department personnel

  • Participation in management reviews of process performance, product quality and of the quality management system and advocating continual improvement.

  • Participate in investigation procedures and perform risk assessment

  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the company from time to time.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems e.g. SAP

About you


  • Academic achievement to degree/Post graduate standard or equivalent in a Science based discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Thorough understanding of EUcGMP guidelines
