Salary: £18,000 - £20,000

Company Overview
This is a new role in the Manufacturing and Quality department for a Chemical Laboratory Technician to deliver against key aspects of their product manufacturing strategies, that solve major challenges in food hygiene and safety. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company based North of Oxford in modern new facilities.

Candidate Profile
The Chemistry Laboratory Technician will undertake analytical testing of water samples using a variety of methodologies including titration and electrolysis. The successful individual will be provided with full training of the methods employed and will be curious to learn why this particular testing is being undertaken and why our chosen methodologies are being used. The position has scope to develop into a wider role within the company and will provide good opportunities to learn regulatory requirements for the food industry.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience of working within a Laboratory environment
- Ability to prioritise workload to ensure that samples are processed to meet requirements
- Self-motivated with a high attention to detail and a methodical approach

Desirable Requirements
- Experience of Titration and Electrolysis methodologies would be ideal but full training will be provided

Key Responsibilities
- Testing samples from trials performed on the customer site
- Running experiments and specifically Electrolysis experiments
- Monitoring scale-up process (validation, sample preparation for external analysis)
- Liaising with Oxford University for sampling for intermediates
- Validation of SOP, round robins, creation of test workflows
- Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations
- General Lab duties including but not restricted to reagent prep, sample prep, washing up
- Ensuring all Data is recorded promptly and accurately

- HND Chemistry or similar e.g. Analytical Chemistry / Physics / Microbiology / Biology
