The Department:

The non-resident landlords department currently consists of one manager and three accounts assistants overseen by a Partner, and is based in our Watford office. The department complete the accounts and provides advice for clients based overseas but with property in the UK.

The Role:

We require a junior accounts assistant to assist in this small but busy department, completing rental accounts and tax returns for our non-residential landlord clients.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • The preparation of rental accounts on Microsoft Excel

  • The preparation of tax returns (using the appropriate software)

  • Liaising with clients, third parties (for example, letting agents and banks) and HMRC by telephone, letter and email

  • Various administration tasks in the department

  • Other ad-hoc tasks as and when they arise

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a graduate or possess excellent A-levels and able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • A familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as general computer literacy

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral

  • Confidence in dealing with clients and third parties by telephone

  • Good inter-personal skills

  • A willingness to learn

The successful candidate will report primarily to the department manager but also to the other staff members as necessary.
