Head of Fleet Procurement - Retained

Open to location around London or Manchester areas

UK travel

Salary £55k - £65k plus car and benefits

Our client major FMCG business is currently seeking to recruit a dynamic and strategic Head of Fleet Procurement responsible for ensuring that the business has a clear strategy and strong guidance for the procurement of all matters relating to vehicles UK wide and optimises its procurement potential through selection and management of key suppliers

Reporting to the CPO:

Key Areas:

  • Develop and implement the fleet sourcing strategy ensuring it is aligned with the broader, overall business objectives.
  • Implement UK wide supply contracts, including preparation of tender documentation, contractual terms and conditions, and mechanisms to monitor and review supply chain performance.
  • Ensure the business fully optimises its procurement leverage through structured supplier rationalisation and consolidation programmes for both goods and services.
  • Source, negotiate and contract with key suppliers, ensuring supply chain solutions meet the business requirements and deliver value for money.
  • Ensure full contractual and legal compliance of goods and services ensuring suppliers perform strictly in line with all contractual conditions, service commitments and legislative requirements.
  • Establish clear KPI’s and SLA’s and manage supplier performance within a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyse fleet performance and compliance
  • Regularly benchmarking
  • Devise, introduce and analyse a telematics devices (black box or telematics box) scheme for the fleet

Experience and skills:

  • Demonstrate track record in a professional purchasing role.
  • Good financial management - P&L / Budgets
  • Change Management
  • Contract negotiation, drafting and management of tendering processes
  • Commercially astute
  • Influencing key stakeholders at all levels
  • Hands-on and results focused
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, Communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Computer literate all Microsoft products and procurement packages.

The ideally degree qualified or equivalent you will have demonstrable experience of selecting and managing suppliers of fleet services for fleets of 1000 vehicles+ including cars, vans, and specialist vehicle conversions and all other aspects of contract vehicle management
