The School:
An excellent Prep School, providing education for 3-11 year old children. The school has excellent facilities, as well as children who enjoy learning and is very well resourced.

The Role:
The Head of Special Needs will identify and support students with additional learning needs (including those with specific learning difficulties, English as a second language and those who are gifted/talented) and provide SEN teaching support to individuals and small groups.

The Head of Special Needs also has key responsibility for the strategic development of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision including the day-to-day operation of the school's SEN policy, including EAL and G&T pupils.

Working with other professionals, s/he will offer advice and guidance to teachers and parents about effective learning strategies for these pupils.
The post-holder will also be expected to teach some class lessons (most probably 8 lessons of English in KS2)

The Successful Candidate:
Essential:
*a formal SENCO qualification and/or further study in this area
*an experienced teacher with an evident passion for supporting individual needs and an outstanding classroom practitioner.
*ability to adopt and deliver a variety of teaching and learning styles
*QTS
*successful teaching experience across the ability and age range
*ability and confidence to teach high-achieving students and support less able
students
