Role: Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Livingston
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Role:
*Line support & process control.
*Process development.
*Process equipment programming.
*New product introduction.

Skills

Essential:
*Detailed understanding of at least one (preferably more) of the following processes:
*Wafer Saw
*Die Attach (epoxy and / or solder)
*Wire Bond (Au ball and / or Al wedge)
*Parallel Seam Sealing / Projection Welding
*Plasma Cleaning
*An understanding of six sigma tools including Pareto analysis, FMEA, DOE, Cpk & rolling yield analysis.

Desired:
*Process fixture/tooling design using Solidworks or similar.
*Detailed knowledge of epoxies (dam, fill, die attach, encapsulation)
*Detailed knowledge of solders (mainly AuSn, SAC & BiSn)
*Project management (including generating and maintaining project plans).
*Customer management / interfacing.
*An understanding of MIL-STD 883 & 750 in the relevant areas outlined in essential skills.

Experience:

*A minimum of 3 years relevant industrial experience (semiconductor and/or optical component manufacturing).

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:

*Degree in a relevant subject (lower qualifications will be considered if the applicant has more than 5 years relevant industrial experience).

Functional Competencies:

*Knowledge and understanding of the techniques and equipment used in the assembly of semiconductor level micro and opto-electronic components.
*Ability to program manufacturing equipment including fully automated die and wire bonders.
*Ability to work across a wide range of industrial product technologies.
*Ability to work under pressure, understand priorities and highlight resource conflicts to line manager.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to participate contribute and in some cases drive conference calls with key customers.
