New Centre: Opening in Basingstoke end of July

Reporting to: Centre Principal

Hours per Week: 45 hrs (5 from 6) No Sundays or Bank Holidays

Job Purpose:The Assistant Manager (AM) is the Centre Principals assistant and as such is responsible for the management of the MOT/service/repair centre and accountable for performance in all areas including, but not limited to, people, operations, profit, sales, and administrative duties. The Assistant Manager is also expected to spend time within service bays with their centre team, training, motivating & assisting (*as this is a new centre launch and staff levels are initially at a minimum, all roles are multifunctional and therefore successful applicants must be qualified MOT Testers/Technicians). The AM will also ensure that at all times the highest level of customer service is maintained both personally and from your team. You will be required to continually promote IN'n’OUT Centres Ltd ethos, offers and platinum card sales.


  • To assist with the achievement of new centre opening, reaching break even and ongoing profitability accomplishment
  • To proactively support the achievement and/or surpassing of sales and operating profit targets
  • To assist with the drive of quality & consistency of customer service and retention performance
  • To ensure transaction and customer satisfaction targets are always achieved
  • To effectively support with the management of people, time and resources to build a strong recognition and reputation for IN'n’OUT
  • To be equally responsible for the delivery of the IN'n’OUT experience to each and every customer or visitor within the centre
  • To provide assistance with the responsibility of staff numbers and placement/deployment of crew, to ensure both speed and customer satisfaction
  • To be involved in store development, including PR and marketing
  • To perform all open & close processes
  • To create weekly schedules/rotas
  • To complete all banking procedures
  • To follow and promote all company health and safety policies
  • To regularly train and support both new and existing employees
  • To assist with the recruitment of new employees and identify promotional opportunities where required
  • To assist with any investigatory or disciplinary matters
  • To conduct crew meetings including daily sales updates
  • To complete or assist with all daily, weekly & monthly accounting processes
  • To complete monthly inventory processes
  • To assist with the order and management of stock
  • To manage and assist with customer complaints
  • To carry out any other reasonable task as requested by your line manager

Person Specification



Education & Training

- BTEC, NVQ or equivalent in Light vehicle maintenance

-MOT Testing License

- 2+ years previous Mechanical experience

- 1+ years MOT Testing

- 2+ years previous supervisory/management experience
