About the role

You will work as part of our central Work Based Learning team delivering and assessing both funded and full cost learning. The role will span a geographical area predominantly covering South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The role will cover all aspects of the healthcare sector, both NHS and private sector.

Main Duties

Deliver learning and carry out assessments of candidates in designated workplaces.

Manage a caseload of Health and Social Care learners, predominantly Apprentices.

Complete and maintain accurate records and tracking documentation.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Role Objectives

To ensure that learners progress through their programmes and complete in a timely manner, at the same time making sure those involved on our programmes have the best possible experience we can provide and to give them the skills and knowledge they need to flourish in their chosen career.


Managing a diverse caseload of learners across a wide variety of settings, ensuring a high degree of satisfaction at all times from both learners and employers.

Your role in the department

To deliver learning and assess the Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support at L2 and L3.

To deliver Functional Skills to Level 2.

To carry out the initial assessment and induction of applicants.

To deliver standalone learning in relevant health related topics.

To be responsible for maintaining records of assessment for designated candidates in line with the requirements of the College and awarding body. Including the use of electronic portfolio.

Requirement for flexibility and updating of the role description

You will be required to carry out duties as maybe commensurate with the post which do not change the character or purpose of the post which are necessary to maintain high quality standards of business practice.

Duties must be carried out in strict compliance with all policies including, but not limited to; equality and diversity, health and safety, quality assurance and Data Protection.

Essential Requirements

Experience of delivering learning and assessing NVQ candidate performance across a range of health related and clinical support units.

Recent experience of working within the NHS.

Health related qualification e.g. qualified nurse, midwife, or other relevant health professional.

Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (or equivalent qualification) or willingness to undertake.

Assessors Award

Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working.

Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of awarding body procedures e.g. Pearson/City & Guilds.

Knowledge of the specification requirements relating to Diplomas in health (formerly NVQs).

Able to work with and respect, personal or sensitive information and treat this data in confidence and accordance with company data protection policy.

Willing to undertake statutory training in connection with Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity and Prevent.
