£35,000 to £50,000 Per Annum DOE Plus Teaching and Learning Responsibility Payment
Our client is an independent, co-educational primary school of some 300 pupils within the South West are of London with nursery schools in Frogmore and East Putney.
Our client aims are to have a thorough and stimulating teaching method in order to provide pupils with a sound and wide-ranging education in a pleasant, lively and homely atmosphere so that they leave well prepared for the next stage of their schooling.
The classes are small and they are careful to ensure that each child receives the attention and the level of teaching they need in order to make sure progress, so that they can take pride in their developing understanding and in their ability to express themselves effectively both in speech and writing while learning to be patient and persistent in the face of difficulties.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, dynamic and experienced Head of English / KS2 Class Teacher to lead our well-resourced English department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teacher of English or a dynamic serving Head of Department, with the necessary flair and leadership skills to build on the successes of the department to date.
The successful candidate will have vision, will be passionate about the subject with great ability to lead others in supporting students to enjoy and achieve. You will be expected to manage the teaching and learning in preparation for the 11+ examination and the transition to secondary school as well as play a leading role in the thriving extra-curricular life of the school.
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications to work in the UK (QTS, PGCE or NARIC approved)
Broad knowledge and experience of the syllabus
A current enhanced DBS certificate
Strong communication and organisational skills
Experience working in the UK school curriculum, ideally within KS2 / Year 2
