The Company

One of the UKs largest newspaper is looking for an Advertising Sales Executive to join their growing recruitment advertising team. The company publishes both daily and weekly newspapers 7 days a week within the UK and overseas. In addition to traditional publishing, the company distributes content online globally, both on their website through mobile devices and tablets.

As one of the UKs most renowned national press brands, they already have built strong existing relationships with companies across virtually all industries.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves selling and promoting the company's portfolio, over the phone directly within a specific sector. Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Sell both classified and display advertising space
  • Partner with existing and former clients in order to maximise revenue
  • Respond to incoming leads through a variety of sources
  • Answer in bound telephone calls and answer any questions clients may have in a professional manner
  • Maintain the database, updating customer records and accurately record all sales activity
  • Correctly book advertising space through the system to ensure they are displayed in the right place and allocated the correct fee
  • Work coherently with other teams during team meetings and monthly reports
  • Manage existing clients to ensure repeat business and future requirements are regulated

Requirements

  • Media sales experience beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure towards deadline
  • Excellent communicator both on the phone and in-person
  • Good business acumen - understand issues and spot opportunities
  • Strong listening skills
  • Proactive and creative thinker
  • IT knowledge
  • Assertive and confident negotiator
