Payroll Administrator

Based in Daventry

Permanent, full time

£20,000 - £23,000 per annum

Role

Reporting to the payroll manager you will be working as a payroll administrator, processing end to end payrolls for our client's variable payment periods.

Responsibilities:

  • To accurately calculate and process payroll based on client's specific requirements

  • To fully test any changes to the system which affects the calculation of the payroll

  • To provide the client with all required reports adhering to deadlines

  • Ensure payroll has an up to date guidance on each client's requirements

  • Provide advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of PAYE

  • Deal with all payroll queries in a timely manner

  • Maintain accurate recording systems

  • Keep up to date with changes in payroll related legislation

  • Provide backup for other payroll team members

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience within payroll preferably with a client based service provider

  • In depth knowledge of good practice payroll processing and procedures

  • Be up to date with current PAYE legislation and have an understanding of Auto Enrolment pensions and salary sacrifice schemes coupled with the ability to efficiently use payroll software

  • Good numeration and communication skills

  • Be proficient in the use of Sage 50 payroll, AS Excel and Word. Knowledge of Xero software would be an advantage

  • Be flexible in your approach to your work
