UK Parking Control have an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager to join their team based in Beaconsfield.

Job Title: Area Manager

Location: Beaconsfield

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 depending on experience OTE £45,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – a minimum of 2 weekend days to be worked per month (rota) plus occasional evening cover will be required

This is predominately an office based role with the key responsibility being to manage and motivate a regional team to meet expectations. This role reports into the Board of Directors. The successful candidate will be required to have/gain a complete understanding of UKPC internal databases and have the drive and determination to efficiently process growth across the business. A commercial viewpoint is essential.

Area Manager - Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To manage a regional team consisting of a Warden Area Manager, Warden Area Supervisor, Regional Support and Parking Attendants
  • To drive and motivate team to meet expectations
  • Interpret data and implement solutions to improve productivity
  • To work closely with Peak Hours team and to make regular motivation calls to wardens across all regions
  • Prepare and send rota’s to team on a weekly basis and daily management of Alerts to ensure coverage on all key sites
  • Prepare and send job vacancies to recruitment team and work with the recruitment team to co-ordinate new warden training and rota’s
  • Ensure Parking Attendants maximise coverage by planning optimum routes
  • Ensure optimum routes followed by Parking Attendants and that sites are covered and patrolled to required levels
  • To review and authorise/decline Parking Attendant holidays and Parking Attendant sickness and arrange cover
  • To carry out Parking Attendant reviews by phone (if face to face required, pass to Warden Area Manager)
  • To be responsible for emergency phone when required
  • Conduct Investigations in relation to misconduct and capability and manage and escalate performance concerns to Line Management/HR

Area Manager - Person Specification - Experience/knowledge/skills:

  • A fantastic communicator with the ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Must have concise and direct management skills and proven ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Computer literate with extensive organisation and admin skills
  • To work as part of a team whilst at the same time being able to manage own workload
  • To be successful in this role you will be required to have/gain experience and knowledge of all aspects of UKPC in-house database
  • Previous management experience within service sector (or similar) and managing a 50+ team
  • Experience of working within a fast paced environment with a desire to exceed expectations
  • Ability to deal with verbal and written instructions to ensure resolution reached
  • Competent in Microsoft office applications
  • Interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in writing
  • Must be able to demonstrate commercial awareness when making decisions
  • Able to take ownership and accountability when making decisions
  • Positive attitude and resilient when faced with challenging and difficult situations
  • Must demonstrate one touch approach
  • Professional approach to be maintained at all times
  • To be a benchmark model for the team
