Flooring Specialist (Nights)
Location: Crawley
Salary: £30,000 - £32,250
Hour: Mon - Thurs 8pm to 6am

Start Date: ASAP

This is an exceptional opportunity to enhance your career within a leading FTSE250 FM Outsourcing business. You'll be assisting the Contract Manager, you will form part of the specialist services shift team and will be responsible for carrying out flooring works involving patch repairs to linoleum and ceramic floor tiling and medium sized project works to areas within the airport terminal buildings and piers.

Main duties
Assist Contract Manager in organisation, management and co-ordination of on-site services to ensure service is maintained to the highest standard in all circumstances

  • Ability to carry out surveys and inspections
  • Simple Report writing.
  • Achieve contract SLA in all reactive / planned work orders across all service lines for the contract site where they are based
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner, using point of work risk assessments where required.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
  • To ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and to assist in any training of the team.
  • To perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on all associated equipment, including fault finding and repair
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time

Person Specification
Previous experience within this type of role is essential.

  • Confident working unsupervised outside of normal working hours. (Monday - Thursday 22.00hrs - 06.00hrs)
  • Preferably qualified to C&G standard or industry equivalent
  • Adaptable building fabric skills relating to hard and soft flooring finishes
  • Experience in sub floor repairs using screed and self levelling compounds
  • Experience in cutting and welding linoleum floor finishes or similar
  • Experience in ceramic floor tiling including cutting and grouting methods
  • Expereince of permit systems or willingness to undertake training.
  • Experience of setting up and working within the confines of a safety exclusion zone
  • Competent and experienced in using relevant trade machinery and specialist tools
  • IOSH Passport certified in Health and Safety or willing to undertake
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the role; e.g.: working rotating shifts, manual handling etc.
  • Traceable 5 year working tax history.
  • Flexible attitude to work.
  • Clean driving licence is essential to the role
  • Excellent Customer Service experience preferably with an emphasis on dealing with customers and clients both face to face, via e mail and over the phone.
  • Competent in Microsoft office applications - outlook & word (basic level)
  • Ability to satisfy the requirements of the airport ID Centre for the issue of an airside security pass
  • Ability to meet the requirements of a clear Disclosure Scotland criminal record check.
