Role Overview:

The Online Content Executive’s role is to proactively plan, upload and manage content on our websites, in particular the UK, Australia, Ireland and USA ecommerce sites. Responsible for planning, evaluating and refining the content, ensuring web content is developed with commercial objectives in mind. To produce regular analysis reports with clear measures of success in terms of website usage. Lastly, supporting the Digital Trade and Content Manager with implementing the commercial trading plans.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

UK, Australia, Ireland and USA websites:

  • Bounce Rate %
  • Site Search Exit Rate %
  • Product Recommendations ROAS
  • Product Page View %
  • Checkout Exit Rate %

Core responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the weekly promotional banners and voucher codes are set up correctly, launched on the websites and performance analysed.
  • Provide accurate weekly reporting on sites trade and customer journey performance.
  • Reduce Website Bounce by continuously optimising:
    • Home page, Area (e.g. Arts and Crafts) and Category (e.g. Paints) page promotional and product banners
    • Promotional voucher code mechanics
    • Ensure web pages are merchandised to their full potential at all times
  • Increase Product Page Landings by continuously optimising:
    • Menu (Burger Menu / Mega Drop Down Menu)
    • Site Search, Category banners and Product Index (product ordering)
  • Onsite merchandising: managing the categorization and presentation of products online, in response to daily sales trends and new launches
  • Ensure the websites content is up-to-date and reflects the promotional calendar.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate may be asked to help with any other online marketing activities as and when required.

  • Educated to degree level with an understanding of statistics/analytics
  • Ideally 1+ years’ experience of working in a similar ecommerce role
  • Experience of using Content Management Systems (e.g. Magento or similar) is advantageous, but not necessary.
  • Experience using Google Analytics or other analytics package
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to write clear, concise engaging content
  • Good Photoshop skills
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS etc.
  • Experience of Java useful
  • Motivated with a can do attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to plan and organise workload effectively
  • A passion for online marketing, ecommerce and desire to learn how

The Company:

Baker Ross Limited ( is a market leader in designing and selling a range of children’s arts & crafts product and party bag fillers online. We sell our own branded merchandise on our own websites and on marketplaces globally. The role is based in Harlow, Essex, which is on the Stansted Express Line and has regular fast train services.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm
