Our twin sites in Belper and Lockerbie are looking to hire a new experienced Designer to work from either to provide the Designer team with innovative ideas for our diverse customer base.

We are looking for someone currently based out of Lockerbie, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Carlisle or Belper.

What being a Designer at DS Smith will involve…

You will be a member of a diverse and close-nit Design Team, working with Customers of Varying sizes, providing them with innovative and cost-saving packaging solutions. Your designs will play a key part in their product displays. You will have the opportunity to produce designs of your own creation, translating these into CAD, producing prototypes and putting these together yourself, giving you exposure to the full product life-cycle of your own creation. Customer service will form a key part of this role as you will be responsible for liaising with both internal & external company stakeholders.

What we would like our candidate to have ?

The successful individual will ideally come from the packaging industry although for an exceptionally talented individual we will consider alternative profiles. They will be detailed-orientated, energetic and have the ability to work to tight deadlines. Ideally, the key experience and knowledge requirements for the role are as follows:

  • Solid track record of developing innovative solutions, savviness for new programs
  • Possess a motivated, hardworking and proactive approach to all areas of work
  • Have a good understanding of CAD or AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Example of previous work may be required
