A leading independent planning consultancy and quantity surveying company in Witney, Oxfordshire are recruiting a Planner to join their ranks. This company primarily serve high-end Oxfordshire clients across public and private sectors however they have historically undertaken work across Wiltshire, London, the South East, North West and Wales respectively.
This business are an Oxfordshire market leader and cater to the highest end of the market. It is for this reason that existing experience within the field of planning can be matched with a strong academic background, MRTPI qualification and outstanding communication.
As a Planner you will ultimately to tasked with project management, actively pursuing business development opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with your existing clients and mentoring and coaching the Graduate Planners and Planners.
Planning advice and supporting your clients will be your bread and butter. Planning requires clear and concise management. You will therefore need a keen eye for detail and a clear focus on every intricate facet of the process, particularly when offering guidance and advice to clients on planning matters, including site appraisals, planning applications and appeals.
The mechanics of the Senior Planner are to provide the support element to a client. Whether it be preparing reports and supporting information, such as planning statements, appeal statements or delivering presentations, you will need to be rounded in all areas to be a success.
The position of Senior Planner is by no means a static role. Longer terms there is scope to progress and undertake notable and industry recognised planning qualifications, supported by the company.
Previously applicants who have enjoyed success with this business will have a planning related degree, have existing planning experience and a genuine interest to pursue this career with vigour and longer-term ambitions. Just be sure to do it with confidence and a smile!

- Planning Degree (or similar/equivalent experience)
- MRTPI Qualified
- Minimum two years experience within planning in either the private or public sector
- A genuine interest in forging a career within Planning/Quantity Surveying
- Personable and well versed in communicating with clients
- Well organised, strong administrative capabilities and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A team player
- Strong academic background
- Not easily flustered. The tenacity to develop a rapport with affluent stakeholders and the versatility to work with key stakeholders internally and externally
- A good sense of humour
