Financial Accountant opportunity within a national not-for-profit children charity with scope for progression into a Finance Manager position within 18 months
The organisation's mission is to help children suffering from abuse and have been established for over 50 years. With an income of over £200,000,000 they have maintained the position of being the largest children not-for-profit organisation based in the UK.
Responsibility of ensuring the accurate recording of all income and expenditure of the organisation and its associated companies; the collation and presentation of budgets/forecast; monitoring consolidated income and expenditure against budget/forecast and the preparation of statutory annual accounts
- Working with the Financial Accounting & Control Manager to ensure implementation, enforcement and monitoring of internal control procedures. Performing relevant tasks in relation to this such as review of journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitoring and forecasting cash flow and maintaining appropriate treasury management procedures and controls including appropriate banking mandates.
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and oversight of tax compliance within the organisation
- Deputise for the Financial Accounting & Control Manager as required. This will include both deputising in appropriate areas of decision making in their absence, and also in management of the team.

You should be an ACA newly qualified accountant from a UK practise firm
Ideally you should have audited not-for-profit organisations
