An exciting opportunity has a risen for a Treasury Analyst to join a large companies Head Office based in Chatham, Kent.

The key purpose of this role is to support and assist the Head of Treasury and Treasury Manager in all areas of Treasury activity including researching and reporting internally on the regulatory outlook and preparing and producing the economic data for internal committees. The role reports directly into the Head of Treasury. It is permanently located in the Chatham Head office and will involve occasional travel within the UK.

The key purpose of this role is day to day participation in financial accounts activity with responsibility for calculating and posting transactions into our accounting systems. On a monthly basis reconciliation of end of month positions against third party data. Using Analytical skills to understand trends and answer questions raised. The role is fundamental to ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately and adhere to the requirements for the control environment. The role suits a candidate studying a professional accounting qualification.


• Uploading transactions into the accounting system (Sun) with speed and accuracy, paying particular attention to ensuing sufficient supporting evidence is saved with good audit trails to the posted transaction.
• Plan, organise and manage own workload towards achieving the company’s month end close deadlines. Full commitment to adhering to the Control environment and contributing to the achievement of the departments goals.
• Reconciliation of allocated balance sheet accounts using the reconciliation system (Blackline) on a monthly basis. Including early flagging and resolution of reconciliation differences.
• Preparation and contribution to the key control deadlines on working day 7 (analytical review) and working day 13 (balance sheet control)
• Key contact for running the Group macro hedge accounting in accordance with policies and procedures
• Acting as third line cover for Payment Processing, inputting of bank payments in accordance with the Payment Processing Policy as and when required.
• Developing good working relationships with other teams particularly and the subsidiaries. Using these relationships to build understanding of the business and suggest improvements to processes.
• Maintain the company’s compliance standards and own compliance training


• 12 months previous experience undertaking an accountancy based position is essential
• 12 months previous experience using a specific finance system is essential
• Previous experience of working with Sun Systems is highly desirable
• Previous experience working in Finance role within the Financial Services industry is desirable


• Robust knowledge of accounting systems is essential
• Robust knowledge of financial controls is essential
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are essential


• GSCE/GCE qualifications in both maths and English are essential
• Accountancy qualification is essential (or a commitment to study towards a recognised accounting qualification)
