Claims Assistant (Legal Administrator / Legal Assistant / Paralegal / Legal Executive)

Full time, permanent

Salary circa £27,000 - £30,000 + excellent benefits package including annual bonus, 12% pension, private medical insurance, healthcare cashplan and 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.

Our in-house experts assist with the wide range of legal and ethical problems that arise from professional practice. This includes clinical negligence claims, complaints, medical and dental council inquiries, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and fatal accident inquiries.

We are currently recruiting a Claims Assistant (Paralegal, legal Assistant) based in our London office, the successful candidate will be required to offer professional support to our in-house lawyers managing a portfolio of South East Asia clinical negligence claims on behalf of doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals.

In particular, the Claims Assistant (Paralegal / Legal executive) will liaise with members, external/panel law firms and third parties; undertake legal/medical/quantum research; monitor/triage the claims team’s incoming post; run conflict checks with panel firms; attend to routine correspondence and prepare standard letters; set electronic tasks/reminders; proactively manage and monitor progression of claims; run reports and maintain spread sheets/data logs; manage a small caseload under supervision; and provide ad hoc support to the claims team.

In order to be considered for this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate experience as a Paralegal or Legal Executive, preferably with experience of Clinical Negligence and/or Personal Injury claims.

You should be confident using IT systems and Software packages.
