Artis Customer Contact is pleased to be working with a leading global niche financial services provider based in central Bristol, who are looking to engage with an experienced Compliance Officer. You will be responsible for creating a strategy for the implementation of a robust compliance, risk management, internal controls and governance frameworks and system controls across the business.

As an experienced Compliance Officer, you will lead your team on the review and development of policies, procedures and manuals, partnering with senior stake holders to ensure all areas of the business are fully compliant and meet all regulatory requirements.

Essentially you will be required to

* Lead assessment and evaluation of key compliance processes, in line with business minimum standards.
* Develop risk management capability of business functions, including ongoing training and implementation of new controls or processes.
* Perform ongoing reviews of control environment, including identifying key risks in line with group standards, testing key systems and controls, reporting relevant trends and conducting all follow up or remedial work.
* Liaise with group compliance and regulatory teams to ensure that any new regulation or policy is incorporated into the risk management framework.
* Oversee governance issues and compliance with industry operational risk best practice.
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant experience in financial services within a compliance role.
* Analytical skill set, capable of assessing adequacy of operational complaince frameworks.
* Knowledge of financial service industry (ICOBS/MCOBS), gained from experience in compliance.
* Strong regulatory compliance experience gained within financial services, legal or regulatory environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders.

This is a very exciting role which will require review of existing procedures, implementation of change and solid leadership skills from the start. You will support development/enhancement within an insurance environment.

Knowledge and experience in the financial services sector would be essential with a good understanding of MCOB or ICOBS and FCA regulatory requirements.
