One of my renowned Global Automotive clients has a super new opportunity for an experienced Automotive Product Analyst/Planner to join their site in Huddersfield. (You may be required to visit the site in Halifax occasionally).

The role is to provide analytical product marketing reports within the automotive sector within a specific division and assess product growth globally for this super automotive recognised brand.

  • Conduct research

  • Product analyst/planner is responsible for ensuring the product brochure is updated with the core products required to support the market requirements.

  • Product analyst/planner will act as the category expert on a particular engine manufacturer.

  • Provide analysis and assessment of market, competitive landscape and products to guide profitable, global growth initiatives.

  • System maintenance required to launch a new part into the market.

  • Updating kit tracking sheets and following all parts through the new part introduction process

  • Write new part introduction announcements and work with the brand manager to publish within the global customer base

  • First line of contact for all field sales questions regarding application, interchange and supersession data

  • Required to identify all supersession data and to make the required changes within the product brochures and systems to keep current

  • Responsible for sending new part introduction data to the Regional product teams and ensuring products are then successfully launched by the regional teams

  • Work with the customer service team to answer field questions with regards to a particular product

  • Research market prices for new and existing parts and insure parts are priced competitively in all markets.

  • Assist with and respond to product enquiries submitted by sales personnel and customers

  • Perform research of the OE and aftermarket competitors’ catalogues, interchanges, pricing, and component information to support gap analysis and new part additions

  • Prepare master NPI & product support material, including bulletins, or other product information and supply to field marketing teams
  • Assist with the management of products throughout all stages of product life cycle, from NPI development and release, to post-release activities including stock category changes and deletions
  • Assist with re-sourcing activities as appropriate to ensure competitive cost base
  • Work with the pricing team to execute pricing strategy

  • Initiate and implement new and improved application and market research techniques.

  • Develop competitor analysis as needed by the organisation.

  • Connect product characteristics to critical value drivers of users.

  • Responsible for accuracy and completeness of application and product data in all publications

  • Manage of monthly SAP part load file

  • Serve as key support in catalogue production process – particularly in data checking and cleaning, and page proofing

We require at least 5 years experience in product marketing, product management, customer service, engineering functions or a similar product related environment, ideally from an automotive or replacement parts background (but not essential).

SAP knowledge.

Understanding and delivering overview and sales projections of respective product line.

Personal interest in the automotive industry and a good level of vehicle/engine knowledge preferred (although not essential)

Excellent computer and analytical skills with thorough knowledge of MS Office and Access

Significant experience in the creation and use of spreadsheets, application databases and presentations.

A great salary is offered £25,000 - £30,000 with excellent company benefits, holidays and on-site parking.
