Leading events company specialising in energy and infrastructure, looking for an experienced and strategic Events Marketing Manager to take ownership of the planning, managing and implementing the marketing and communications strategy and implementation for the portfolio of leading events, as well as for the division itself. The portfolio includes around 35 annual conferences and exhibitions and 50+ training courses.

The company is also dedicated to delivering and organising leading industry events on behalf of their global clients, which include large international energy associations, ensuring record attendance levels, global impact and increased visibility for clients.

The role will be challenging, varied and exciting, and will be an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain a tremendous amount of experience. It requires a highly motivated, organised individual with meticulous attention to detail, who is able to work independently and can juggle many different tasks at the same time. Creativity and problem-solving skills will be key in coming up with new ideas on how to reach new markets

About you

  • Minimum four years’ commercial experience working in a direct marketing role, preferably gained within a B2B conference Marketing Manager role
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Excellent copy writing and verbal communication skills
  • Great presentation skills, confident communicator
  • Other languages, especially Mandarin, an advantage
  • Experience in energy industry an advantage
  • Strong creative flair with confidence and ability to suggest alternative strategies and innovative ideas
  • Strategic and analytical skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Budget management experience
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and an all-round team player
  • Available and willing to travel internationally as required

Main responsibilities

  • Develop original, innovative and exciting marketing plans, heavily based on new technology and digital marketing
  • Manage and provide support and assistance to the Marketing Executive(s)
  • Manage the marketing budget
  • Carry out successful and cost-effective marketing and communications campaign within budget
  • Understand, communicate and deliver the event brand to the desired target market
  • Research, evaluate, negotiate and develop good relationships with all suppliers and media partners
  • Work within the timelines and budgets as set out by the Director
  • Gain a working knowledge and understanding of the Energy industry to market to it effectively
  • Build and maintain effective and up-to-date event websites and SEO
  • Manage all PR activities including writing and distributing press releases
  • Manage and maintain the database
  • Monitor all marketing responses and complete ongoing analysis of marketing conducted
