Marketing Manager - Conferences (Management)

The Role…..

This is an opportunity to join a growing and fast-paced portfolio of events, the role requires an experience event marketer in a similar role with a proven track record of planning and implementing successful campaigns for B2B conferences & exhibitions. This will involve management of one marketer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing strategy, in conjunction with the Head of Marketing across the portfolio of events
  • Develop detailed market knowledge and use this information to drive the growth of the portfolio
  • Contribute to project development and influence strategic planning and investment decisions; identify key market drivers and areas of risk and opportunity particularly at research stage of campaigns
  • Planning and implementing integrated marketing communications campaigns for each event, using all aspects of direct response marketing - direct mail, email, digital/web, PR, advertising, social media etc
  • Provide accurate ongoing monitoring of all aspects of campaign effectiveness and KPIs, taking appropriate contingency activity where required
  • Manage and monitor budgets, provide accurate and detailed forecasts and feed into the budget setting process
  • Develop relationships with, and gain maximum value from, media partnerships in order to gain maximum exposure of our events to relevant audiences
  • Work with the Production team to plan and deliver content to underpin our marketing activities and lead generation
  • Manage, monitor, maintain and regularly review relationships with key suppliers to ensure highest levels of service are continuously delivered
  • Work closely with the Sponsorship/Exhibition and Delegate sales teams, providing a lead pool (researched and enquiry driven) for them to target
  • Remain up-to-date with latest communications tools and continuously assess their deployment to improve marketing effectiveness

Skills & Expertise

  • Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record of planning and implementing successful campaigns for B2B events (both conferences and exhibitions)
  • Excellent project management, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Highly literate and numerate
  • Experience of working with CRM systems
  • A tenacious 'can do’ approach and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
