I am currently recruiting for a £10 million turnover site in Middleton in appointing a Company Accountant who wants to operate as a Number 1 in finance for site whilst reporting to the Managing Director and Group Finance Director at their head office.

Reporting to and supporting the Managing Director and management team by ensuring that all aspects of the day to day running of the accounts department are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. Assisting in the preparing of budgets, and reforecasts and preparing financial reports to the management team. Leading a team of 2 transactional finance assistants

Core duties:

- Mentoring and supporting a team of 2 in finance
- Completing monthly financial reports, including Profit and Loss, debtor/creditor position and balance sheet ensuring these reports are accurate
- Assisting with annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts
- Completing bank reconciliations and verifying bank deposits
- Managing day-to-day transactions and ledgers
- Ensuring the purchase ordering system is maintained and that completed Purchase Orders are closed out
- Ensuring sales invoices are raised in a timely manner, are accurate and that effective credit control is carried out
- Ensuring that payroll information is correctly coded in the accounts and job costing system
- Preparing returns to HMRC including VAT, PAYE and Employers NIC

My client are looking for candidates who have preferably working within a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or retail environment, you must be confident and organised with good communication skills both written and verbal.

Experience required:

* CIMA or ACCA Qualified or QBE with sufficient experience
* Working knowledge of a accountancy software package
* Proficient with MS Office, especially MS Excel
* Adaptable with the ability to work to tight schedules
* Candidate should be organised, timely and detail oriented
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
