Our client, a capital equipment manufacturing business in Manchester, seek to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to handle contracts from initial enquiry, through design and manufacture, and onto installation. The appointed Mechanical Design Engineer will have an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD / Solidworks, at least three years' experience in a similar role and ideally experience of large scale fabrication. Contracts are already secured with a number of leading businesses and an already full order book is still expanding. It's a fantastic time to join an innovative manufacturer with a great future.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineering / Capital Equipment / Fabrication

* Assisting in the specification of design requirements for all equipment including new-build and modifications to existing products
* Regular contact with customers externally and liaising internally with the Works Manager to progress jobs through the works
* Responsible for cost control and ensuring contracts run to budget
* Representing our client at industry events and tradeshows
* Carrying out process design to the companys internal and external quality standards

Mechanical Design Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Mechanical Engineering / Capital Equipment / Fabrication

* Degree qualified Engineer in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* At least 3 years practical experience for a capital equipment / fabrication manufacturing business
* Constructive team working mentality to work well alongside others within a small and tight-knit engineering team
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role in the Engineering / Manufacturing industry with a medium to large organisation
* Experience in AutoCAD / SolidWorks and able to produce engineering drawings including general arrangements and fabrication drawings
