Our goal is to play a vital role in shaping the future of global energy delivery by deploying at least 8GW of solar capacity worldwide in the next 5 years based on a develop and operate strategy.

This position will require working on the planning workload across the business, including:

Planning constraints analysis to assist site selection for new developments, including desktop assessments and site visits.
Preparation of planning applications (including preparation of planning documentation and management of consultant inputs)
Leading on stakeholder engagement for solar farm projects (organising community information events, and managing PR consultants)
Undertaking post-construction planning compliance assessments for operational assets
Undertaking due diligence assessments of acquisition targets (both operational assets and development opportunities)

The focus will be on planning in the UK, but my may include providing support to other established jurisdictions that Lightsource BP works in, together with research on new markets.

You will work closely with other internal teams, including development, project management, asset management and structured finance. Regular travel around the UK for site visits, community information events, and meeting with LPAs is likely.

Knowledge & Skills

Applicant should have a good working knowledge of the UK planning system. Commercial awareness / development experience will also be of benefit
Full driver’s license and fluent English essential
Strong written and verbal skills
Minimum of 2yrs experience
MRTPI or working toward MRTPI
