The role:

This opportunity is a newly created Outsourced Finance & Accounting Manager role in the UK focused team which has experienced a surge in new clients.


You will take personal responsibility for:

  • Providing accounting service to a diverse range of multi-national clients trading in the UK
  • Reviewing and quality assuring all deliverables before sharing them with your clients in-person or via a sophisticated Sharepoint portal with Power BI and other reporting tools. These deliverables will include but won't be limited to management accounts, VAT and CIS returns, ONS returns and treasury transactions

You will evaluate your own performance and that of your team against rigorous measures including:

  • Client satisfaction: survey results, informal feedback and client loyalty
  • Staff morale: 360 formal and informal feedback from your team, your peers and line mangers
  • Quality: percentage (ideally 100) of deliverables both to clients and other internal teams (eg statutory accounts preparation team) that are on time and right first time
  • Compliance and Risk Management: The firm has detailed compliance and risk management frameworks which you will be expected to understand in detail and apply consistently. Positive outcomes from Cold Reviews are the main indicators of success
  • Profitability: every client account has a target profitability. You won't always meet it. But you must always understand why the target has or hasn’t been met and have a clear plan to improve performance on a month to month basis
  • Revenue growth: you will track the additional revenue you and the service teams generate from identifying new requirements on existing client accounts. You will also track the revenue generated from external sales and internal cross selling of your UK accounting services


You will need to evidence extensive experience:

  • Serving UK subsidiaries of multi-nationals in an accounting practice environment
  • Managing, motivating and developing junior staff and qualified Seniors
  • Quality control and risk management including a clear understanding of ethics and regulatory requirements including anti-money laundering
  • Working on multiple applications including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) cloud accounting platforms (ideally NAV and Xero) and reporting platforms
  • Managing implementation projects i.e. creating a service and associated accounts for a new entity or transitioning services from an in-house team or existing outsource provider
  • Analysing client requirements and creating/pricing appropriate solutions

It would also be ideal if you can evidence experience

  • Working with moderately complex groups and accounting consolidations
  • Producing monthly management accounts for pension funds and other financial services entities
  • Reporting applications, ideally including Sharepoint and Power BI.
  • You will have UK accounting qualifications and up to date understanding of IFRS and the latest UK Financial Reporting Standards underpinned by an accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA or international equivalent
