MIS Manager – Job Rationale: To assist the Director of Strategic Communication and Business Intelligence with the maintenance of the College database and the provision of timely, accurate and informative statistics and data to service-users. To provide support and guidance to the Director of Strategic Communication and Business Intelligence in the planning and input of student timetables. MIS Manager – Principal Responsibilities: - To be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the College database to ensure the accuracy and availability of all student and staff data required for the efficient management of the College on a day-to-day basis - Provide support and assistance to the Director of Strategic Communication and Business Intelligence, Heads of Department and SLT in the planning and input of student timetable Ensure the timely and accurate submission of funding and statistical returns required by external agencies - To create and quality check data including enrolments, admissions, change of course information and leaver information - Be responsible for and proactive in ensuring the accuracy of the MIS Database for management information, data returns and audit purposes - Drive the timetabling process to maximise room utilisation, ensure the efficient use of IT resources and ensure a balanced final timetable - To be proactive in the production and distribution of reports and management information to allow the monitoring of College activities and trends - To proactively support the development and maintenance of the College’s Management Information System including training end users - Develop the ownership and use of data across the College to enable effective planning, monitoring and improvement, ensuring colleagues have access to reliable, timely and appropriate data - Carry out specific audit controls throughout the year to ensure accuracy of key student and funding information - To undertake the analysis and publication of examination statistics as required - To act as the College’s Data Protection Officer, ensuring the College fulfils our legal responsibilities to meet our data protection and freedom of information obligations - To implement appropriate personal, technical and organisational measures to ensure that data processing is performed in accordance with the GDPR, and review and update those measures where necessary - To carry out such other duties, as the job develops, as may be reasonably required by the Principal in accordance with the College's flexible approach to the efficient delivery of a quality support service - To act in accordance with and promote the Staff Code of Conduct and Safeguarding and Prevent policies MIS Manager – Essential Experience and Attributes: - Educated to degree level or significant relevant experience - Proven experience of working with MIS at an education establishment - Proven experience of data analysis and report production - Advanced level of Microsoft Office Applications including excel and access - Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI - Knowledge of education funding methodology and compliance - Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organisation - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Awareness of the need for confidentiality - Commitment to the ethos of the College - Positive and enthusiastic attitude - Flexible in approach to work and adaptable to changing situations - Willingness to undertake relevant training To submit your application for this exciting MIS Manager opportunity, click ‘Apply’ today!
