Do you want to be a key player in transforming our client’s UK/international B2B business? Are you an experienced Project Manager? Do you have experience and have worked with several decentralised energy technologies, e.g. Wind Power, Solar PV, Storage, CHP and many other energy efficiency solutions, and are you familiar with UK energy markets? Our client is an established international integrated energy company based throughout Northern Europe who is now entering a new and exciting phase having created a UK internal start-up. Our client is seeking a Project Manager to be part of their aims and vision, this role is critical to our client’s success in delivering bespoke Energy Solution to I&C Customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering projects for Energy as a Service (EaaS) and handing over to Operations
  • Managing EPC and direct contractors to ensure that quality and safety are maintained within programme and budget
  • Ensuring that projects perform to specification while meeting the client’s needs
  • Engaging with procurement to ensure that the appropriate suppliers and contractors are used
  • Developing contacts with new suppliers and contractors
  • Negotiating and managing contracts and relationship with internal and external partners/suppliers
  • Liaising with Sales to ensure that the projects are to specification, and to feed-back improvements that can be made at the Sales stage
  • Liaising with Operations during the projects to ensure that operational requirements are met, and feeding back the requirements to the Sales team
  • Co-ordinating project debriefs with Sales, Operations and key external partners to build a process of continuous improvement
  • Leading and managing the Projects Team (incl. line management, when team is formally created)

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong track record in delivering projects to programme and budget while maintain quality and safety
  • Several years of experience from working in a corporate context
  • Several years of experience with complex engineering projects
  • A demonstrated ability to provide positive feedback to colleagues to improve the overall performance of the whole team
  • Strong stakeholder - internal and external
  • Extremely customer-oriented and highly result-focused
  • Pro-active and self-driven with a strong analytic and systematic mind-set
  • More-than-average sharpness, eg. when it comes to numeracy and literacy
  • Very good communication skills
  • Degree level preferred but not essential
