An exciting opportunity for an experienced Housing Officer

Based in South Westminster, our client offers a wide range of services to homeless people and the local Westminster community, enabling them to gain the skills to break out of poverty and homelessness.

Position: Housing Officer
Location: London
Contract: Fixed term contract, 6 Months
Hours: Part Time, 28 hours per week
Salary: £27,981.34 prorated down to reflect 28 hours

Closing Date: 14th May 2017 midnight
First round interviews planned for: 17th of May 2017
Second round interviews planned for: TBA – commencing the week 22nd of May 2017

About the role:

Based in their Residential Team, you will support young people to sustain their tenancies, support them with transition to adulthood and work in partnership with agencies to help young people move into the private rented sector.

If you are passionate about enabling people to deal with homelessness and poverty, highly organised, flexible, committed to our ethos, and have the ability to manage a busy and varied workload please get in touch.

About you:

To be considered for this role you will have proven experience of working with disadvantaged & vulnerable young people, knowledge of relevant housing legislations linked to resettlement and experience of working in multi-agency partnerships with social workers, PRS and specialist voluntary agencies.

You will possess a good working knowledge of welfare benefits particularly in relation to housing and have experience of managing arrears and recovery procedures.

In addition you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a good level of IT skills particularly in using computerised databases.

You may have experience of the following: Housing Assistant, Charity, NFP, Not for Profit, Third Sector, Housing Association, Word, Housing Assistant, Customer Service, Receptionist, Rent Collection, Welfare, Benefits etc.
