An established Professional Standards College based in the City of London, responsible for regulation and accreditation in the medical field is looking for a Finance Assistant to maintain the College's purchase and sales ledger on the company's Sage accounting package (Sage50).

This role is being offered as a full-time permanent role paying circa £25,050 per annum. Core office hours for this role are 9 - 5.

Purpose of the Finance Assistant:

To maintain the college's purchase and sales ledger including petty case reconciliation and assist with the management accounts and month-end processes (SAGE).

Duties of the Finance Assistant include but not limited to:

- Post cashback entries in to SAGE Accounts 50
- Distributing expenses claims and purchase invoices to budget holders
- Code, match and authorise invoices
- Set up new client accounts
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
- Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques
- Credit Control
- Set up new customers on the software
- Raise invoices
- Bank cheques

Skills/Experience required of the Finance Assistant:
- A strong background in Finance Administration and accounting
- Studying towards AAT or equivalent qualification
- SAGE Accounts 50 software
- Strong financial acumen
- Strong numerical skills
- Previous accounts experience - experience in a similar finance administration, credit control, Sales ledger and bank reconciliation role
- Knowledge of VAT rules
- An appreciation of Charity accounting
