Our client, a tour operator company with headquarters in London, UK and offices in Havana, Cuba are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join the team. You will be expected not only to code but to contribute to technical discussions and have a say in important decisions of the system architecture. At the same time, you will use your expertise to mentor other less experienced developers in the team. The development stack is mainly .NET/C# and Azure. Although, they are open to explore and use other technologies when proved to be more convenient or effective to tackle certain problems. Agile and DevOps are corner stones in their development process, and our client expects nothing less than high quality results. Role Description Participate in technical discussions about system architecture and development best practices. Produce high quality code following programming best practices and principles (e.g. SOLID and DRY). Undertakes feasibility study to design software solutions. Tests and corrects software programs. Embrace DevOps principles of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Mentor less experienced developers in the team. Apply TDD and BDD thoroughly to the development process. Contribute to the writing of product documentation. Skills / Experience A good UK degree or equivalent in Computer Science More than 5 years of experience in similar position Good understanding of the SOLID and other programming principles Good understanding of Software Development Patterns and when to apply them Strong knowledge and proven experience working with .NET development stack Demonstrable experience with relational databases and T-SQL (SQL Server) Familiar with NoSQL databases Demonstrable experience developing REST Web API and working with JSON and XML Familiar with the microservices architecture Familiar with Azure development and deployments. Particularly familiar with Web Apps, Queues, Function Apps, Databases (SQL and NoSQL), Storage, Identity Server, OAuth and App Insights Working experience in Agile teams/environments Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery, ideally using Azure DevOps (formerly Visual Studio Team Services) A passion for software quality Think outside the box Closing date for the receipt of applications is 2 November 2018.
