*About Droplet*
Droplet is an instant messaging app that makes it easy for groups to self-organise on mobile. It is especially popular with sport teams and charity groups. Founded in 2016 when we filed our patents, our MVP is now in beta-testing with users. Both Co-founders have a technology background and work only part-time on Droplet until the app has moved beyond testing. The Droplet App needs a fresh pair of eyes to decide on the technical direction and weed out several bugs. We are in stealth mode to create a stable, quality app based on user feedback (and a few crash reports) with a pipeline of over 1,000 users in Cambridge.

*We are looking for*
An energetic and passionate team player who will work in a small team of 2. This team will set the direction of our technology including architecture, vendor selection, coding, analytics and quality assurance. We’re looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial and fun engineer to join us. The fancy title would be VP Engineering - but we normally refer to ourselves just by first names.
You'd be part of the company and make decisions, try out stuff and get things done. You'd be tinkering, growing, cheering, fixing, cursing, and enjoying the work in a startup-blaze. You'd be building your own thing with us. But it’s not for everyone: experiments, risks, setbacks and long weeks, buzzing discussions and uncertainty will be the state of “normal” in this role. That’s why we are looking for a person with grit, a sense of adventure, ambition and humour.

*We want you to*
# take charge of our technology, not “just develop an app”
# be experienced on iOS and able to learn fast
# share your ideas openly, discuss with your team mate and listen to the views of others
# be comfortable working with little or no technical guidance
# be comfortable working autonomously
# be comfortable in a fast-paced, experimental, fast-change environment
# be Cambridge/area based, available for meetings at weekends/evening
# preferred: also have some experience in .net and/or web application
# preferred: also have some experience in Apache Cordova
# preferred: some familiarity with Android

*We offer*
# flexible work place: no need to go to office (unless you want to)
# flexible work time: we can work around your lifestyle, but need you to be there when there is a fire
# impact: your personality, code, ideas and decisions will directly impact our company and customers
# freedom: work on the stuff that matters in the way you see fit
# experience: beyond coding the chance to co-build a company

If that sounds interesting, then please drop us a line!
