The position of Technical Sales & Account Executive would suit a very strong account management & sales person who is now looking to expand and develop within a more autonomous role. You need to be a confident communicator who is not afraid to take ownership of new business enquiries whilst at the same time, providing support to the field sales team in managing existing key accounts.
We are looking for someone who is practical too - you will have to research and learn some very niche products, and converse over the phone to customers whose first language is not always English. Overall you are the connection within both internal and external customers and distributors both in the UK and globally.
In view of the fact that your line manager is field based and you are working under you own steam (although you will be based in an office with a team) you will be self-motivated with a strong sense of judgement to make business decisions.
To get a feel of what a day in the life of this role looks like, here are some of what your responsibilities include:
- Responsibility and ownership of managing key accounts and new accounts
- First point of contact for all new and existing sales enquiries
- Responsible for passing leads onto the field sales team
- Ownership of customer issues and following up to ensure customer satisfaction
- Discussing, quoting and selling technical products
- Making calls to warm leads and following up on any enquiries
- Attending events and exhibitions
- Following up with everything both with customers and with the sales team
The role of Technical Sales & Account Executive is right for you if you understand the importance of doing what you say you are going to do and doing it! You must be a stickler for following up with others and be tenacious, yet gracious in your demeanour. You will have lots of drive, be a go-getter with a great deal of dedication. You will be career driven (as this company have plenty of possibilities), have strong observation skills and an aptitude for learning new products. You will need a proven background in sales and account management, ideally of technical or niche products.
In return you will be offered a basic salary of between £22,000-£25,000 per annum plus annual bonus, pension (10% of salary), private medical insurance, 33 days’ annual leave and free parking. And of course, the chance to work for an innovative and reputable company.
