Options Barton, a specialist children’s autism service, require ResidentialSupport Workers to join our day and night teams. Based in Barton upon Humber, North Lincolnshire, our Education and Residential facility is within easy reach of Barton, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Doncaster and Hull. Salary range for Days c£16,120 - £18,965.60 p.a. and night’s c£16,926 p.a. - £19,918 p.a., + 3 months Toll payment.
Working as a Residential Support Worker, this key position provides care to children and young people with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties. The role focuses on developing independent life skills through individually designed programmes. Following a thorough 3 week induction and training programme, your duties would include:
Working with our young people and children to support their education and individual life programme, promoting skills and independence whilst maintaining safeguarding procedures
Promoting life skills and independence in the home, developing domestic and personal skills
Documenting all children’s activities, reporting and recording key aspects of their care
Managing challenging behaviour, helping to develop self-control techniques
Qualified or be prepared to study for Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children or Young people)
Experience of working with children with complex and challenging behaviour
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Have the flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends
