Relief Support Worker (Supported Housing) Our client is an organisation that provides a range of housing and varied support services to vulnerable people. Their aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. They are currently going through a large period of growth and have vacancies for Relief Support Workers. Position: Relief Support Worker Location: Eastbourne and Newhaven, East sussex Job type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: Variable shifts as and when required ranging from days, nights, weekends and evenings. Salary: £10.22 per hour Benefits: Pension scheme, Annual Leave Closing date: 17th October 2018 About the role: As a Relief Support Worker, you will provide ad-hoc shift cover for their Support Workers across their East Sussex Service. Their Relief bank provides essential cover at their services when Support Workers are on annual leave, training or off sick. Their services are East Sussex Young Mothers Service Eastbourne, East Sussex Young Mothers Service Newhaven and Newhaven Foyer. ESYMS are x2 bed houses providing support to 16-25 year old women who are pregnant and / or have a child. Newhaven Foyer is a 37 bed supported housing project offering 24 hour support to young single males and females experiencing homelessness. About you: - One year’s experience of working with young people in housing, health, employment, counselling or youth work fields - Understanding of welfare benefit framework - Ability to facilitate individual action plans - Good written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with young people and partner agents - Able to write reports, daily contact sheets and case notes clearly and concisely - Good Numeracy skills required - Familiarity with IT including email - Knowledge and understanding of client-centred working practices - Ability to work unsocial hours / shifts you agreed to - Educated to GCSE level would be desirable - Knowledge of young person’s housing and employment issues would be beneficial We may also ask you to provide a criminal record Enhanced Disclosure as you will be dealing with vulnerable people. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as amended. A copy of our ‘Criminal Records Policy’ is available from Personnel.
