Credit Manager, c£60k package (to £45k base + Car + Bonus + Pension + Benefits)

This an exciting opportunity for a senior Credit professional to join a recognised International Finance business in a key management role. You will be tasked with managing a team of Credit Analysts whilst assisting the Head of Credit Management with the development and implementation of the Business’ operational lending strategy and ensuring a high level of decision quality according to credit guidelines and regulations.

About the job:

• Managing a team of 6, you will motivate, coach and support the members in all aspects of service delivery.
• You will continually strive to improve team and individual performance; you will be proactive in reviewing processes and improving efficiency.
• Ensuring the team meets their objectives, KPIs and service levels to provide quality and timely credit decisions.
• You will manage the daily credit activities for your designated business area (SME or Corporate).
• You will bring high levels of quality to the credit decision making process, documentation and compliance with legal requirements in the lending business.
• Be the escalation point for internal sales areas and external partners alike.
• You will make your own credit decisions and review those made by your Credit Analysts, you will also make recommendations on credit decisions above your own authority level.
• It will be key to build strong working relationships with the external business partners senior stakeholders.
• You will work closely with the internal sales manager to support sales initiatives.
• There will also be requirement to deputise for the Head of Department when the need arises.

About you:

• Relevant and proven team leadership / management experience within the financial services or banking industries, specifically responsible for credit assessment / financial analysis.
• A thorough and advanced understanding of the credit assessment processes is essential to this role.
• You will need proven analytical and information gathering experience as well as a good level of commercial awareness and a commercially minded approach.
• You will be an effective communicator and a pro-active, collaborative team manager; able to prioritise effectively to ensure that the Credit Management team meets it’s KPIs in relation to delivery of service and quality standards.
• You will need to be passionate about what you do and about delivering outstanding levels of customer service for internal and external customers alike.
• As a leader you will offer inspiration and be able to motivate and develop your team to derive collective and personal success.
• And you will obviously be a confident individual with strong systems ability and presentation skills.

The client is keen to see CVs from applicants with a strong technical credit skillset / background, who have an in depth understanding of the credit assessment process as this is a Credit Manager role responsible for assessment / approval (and is not involved in the collections process so Collections Manager’s need not apply). Applicants will in all likelihood come from a Financial Services business, from one of the mainstream Banks, or from an Invoice Discounting or Factoring business.
