This growing organisation is a national charity looking to transform the lives of those affected.DescriptionAct as first point of contact for media enquiries, ensuring a prompt and professional responseMonitor key media to identify opportunities for positive coverage and any negative coverage requiring a responseEnsure a prompt and effective media relations response to relevant newsDevelop strong relationships with key journalists to facilitate strong coverageGather stories and background information as required to support media relations needs including writing up case studies and arranging interviewsResearch and write press releases, media briefings, promotional literature, publication articles and position statements as requiredContribute to the promotion of multi-channel media coverageOrganise press conferences, receptions and other media relations events as requiredAssist the digital team with sharing social media content in line with the current media agendaProvide media advice/support to all departments in line with the overall strategy and priorities of the organisationAssist as required with developing communications resources such as presentations, speeches and key messagesWriting and distributing high quality media materials including press releases, interview briefings and statementsProfile Essential Previous experience working in a press team environment and working with national mediaProven experience of producing high quality communications for media contacts and external stakeholdersConfident communicator with excellent writing and interpersonal skillsExcellent journalistic skills - proactively identifying, developing and pitching stories and features to secure and widespread media coverageCreative approach with a proactive attitude to finding and telling compelling storiesStrong networking and relationship building skills with ability to engage with journalists and internal and external stakeholders of all levelsExcellent organisational and planning skills and ability to work in a high pressure environmentSelf-motivated and ability to use initiative, but also a strong team player Desirable Previous experience working within the charity sectorJob OfferSalary of between £25,000 and £27,000 commensurate with experience
