Want to join a well-established, highly respected and friendly law firm?
If you have a strong interest in the law and can provide excellent legal support to experts in the industrial disease field, Thompsons Solicitors has just the opportunity for you.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Paralegal/Litigation Assistant with exceptional communication skills to join our team of professionals in our Newcastle office. You will be an integral part of the industrial disease team, assisting on a wide range of tasks and activities to help support the progression of cases. Each day is different and brings new opportunities and challenges to learn.
If you take pride in delivering high quality legal services and can demonstrate excellence in legal research, drafting and client care, then we would be the perfect match!
We know that together we achieve more which is why we provide an inclusive environment where regardless of role or responsibility, you will have the chance to make an impact and the opportunity to shine.
The role will involve managing a caseload of low value, portal disease cases (such as claims for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, Work Related Upper Limb Disorders, Noise Induced Hearing Loss) as well as assisting other lawyers on more complex multi-track cases. Therefore experience of the Ministry of Justice portal and/or disease claims would be very beneficial. You will need knowledge of PI Law, Pre-Action Protocols, CPR and funding. We are looking for a talented individual who is self-sufficient, able to prioritise and has a keen eye for detail.
Who we are
We are leading legal advisers in the Personal Injury and Employment Rights field. We pride ourselves on our stand-out reputation for being a claimant only firm who support Trade Unions and the Labour movement, which means we never work for employers or insurance companies.
How you will be rewarded
We offer a competitive salary and an extensive benefits package, including a very generous holiday allowance (23 days each year, plus Bank Holidays). For more detailed information on our excellent benefits, take a look at our website.
On top of these benefits, we also provide non-stop learning and structured supervision so our people are empowered to be the best they can be. You will discover an environment unlike any other law firm - we aim to create a diverse and progressive culture where highly engaged and competent people are our differentiator. We also recognise that our people have lives outside of work, which is why we ensure you are able to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
We believe that attracting talent that reflects the diversity of the communities within which we live and work is a key part of our business, which is why we are an equal opportunities employer.
