This leading housing association is part of the G15, a group of the largest housing providers in London helping to transform communities and help people lead independent lives.Description Assist with the delivery of the external affairs strategy, working closely with senior members of the teamGather stories and produce creative and engaging content as required, particularly with regard to the organisation's Foundation to help transform communitiesEnsure a prompt and effective media relations response to relevant news, and providing reactive crisis communications support as requiredDevelop strong relationships with key trade, local and national journalists to facilitate strong coverageWork collaboratively with teams across the organisations including senior leaders to assist in the delivery of effective communication strategiesLiaise with external stakeholders as required including politicians, local authorities, sector groups, etcProvide support at corporate events, campaigns, launches and other media relations events as requiredProvide media advice/support to all departments in line with the overall strategy and priorities of the organisationProfileEssentialDemonstrable experience working in a press team environment and working with national mediaProven experience of producing high quality communications for media contacts and external stakeholdersConfident communicator with excellent writing and interpersonal skillsExcellent journalistic skills - proactively identifying, developing and pitching stories and features to secure and widespread media coverageCreative approach with a proactive attitude to finding and telling compelling storiesAbility to translate complex policy and technical language into plain English to ensure that public understanding of the organisation's work is maximisedStrong networking and relationship building skills with ability to engage with journalists and internal and external stakeholders of all levels (including government and local authorities)Excellent organisational and planning skills and ability to work in a high pressure environmentSelf-motivated and ability to use initiative, but also a strong team player DesirablePrevious experience working within housing, planning, regeneration, community consultation, development, property PR or the charity sectorJob OfferA salary of between £32,000 and £36,000 commensurate with experienceProfessional developmentGreat benefits package
