MSS People are working with an established client who require a Engineering and Maintenance Manager to ensure the site operates safely, complying with the O&M standards & legislation via best practice, commercial engineering & maintenance actions.

Your main duties will include:

* The role’s primary purpose is ensuring the site operates safely, complying with the O&M standards & legislation via best practice, commercial engineering & maintenance actions.

* As the site Accountable E&M person, in line with business, client & legislative requirements provide, leadership & management of E&M philosophy, strategy, actions, results & compliance during all running states.

* Successfully lead, direct, organise & manage the E&M Department, ensuring personnel are competent in completing their job role responsibilities & also the requirements of the client O & M standard

* Provide appropriate guidance and support for all major engineering and maintenance events including outage and plant shut down, unplanned and planned events and incidents. Provide leadership regarding investigations, processes, procedural actions and communications.

* Develop & maintain a MMS for the list of equipment items to be tested, inspected and maintained

* Lead and manage the E&M Department and other assigned personnel ensuring they meet the standards. Take overall responsibility for their supervision, development, welfare and engineering capability & competency in discipline areas & their ability to address technical requirements & ensure standard implementation

To be considered for the role, you must:

* Degree in engineering discipline.

* Experience of using an Engineering Risk Management System.

* Previous completion of inspections & contributions to interventions & reporting.

* Previous experience of managing recovery from significant plant failures.

* Previous experience of contract & contractor management.

* Previous experience of developing & implementing strategies, projects & initiatives across technical, commercial & other areas.

* Experience of working cross functionally to establish & deliver policies & initiatives, ensuring compliance with company & legislative requirements.

* Experience of working with a formalised safe systems of work & as a minimum being a competent person.

* Experience and working knowledge of integrated management systems.

* Proven Mechanical & Electrical engineering compliance & legislation. ATEX, DSEAR etc.

* Proven compliance with internal/external engineering standards.

* Previous experience of developing and contributing to business plans.

* Able to operate within & effectively monitor budgets, taking action to optimise costs whenever possible.

* Effective management of key financial performance indicators & their relationship with operational indicators.

* Microsoft Office Word: Ability to create and edit word documents to professional standard.

* Microsoft Office Excel: Ability to analyse relevant data using statistical analysis tools within Excel.

* Microsoft Office Power Point: Ability to create presentations.

* Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for emails and calendar entries/invites.

* Appreciation & application of data management systems.
