Equipment Engineer
Chelmsford

Equipment Engineer needed for an international organisation working in Civil Aerospace, Defence & Security, Space, Industrial and Medical & Science applications, based in Chelmsford. The client is looking to employ an experienced Equipment Engineer with an interest in joining the Space Imaging team and working toward projects on the cutting edge of science and technology.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Equipment Engineer will include:
• Identify potential equipment failure modes and implement mitigation plans to ensure that equipment availability for production is maximised
• Implement and maintain all preventative maintenance procedures
• Respond rapidly to equipment issues, ensuring that timely repair is carried out in a logical manner and that clear progress updates are provided to production teams
• Use appropriate systems/processes to ensure that all equipment issues are logged and that a controlled release back to production is completed
• Ensure all spares usage is controlled and replenished as necessary
• Use failure modes information to determine equipment improvement actions, either through spares/repairs policy, or working with equipment suppliers to implement equipment improvements
• Work with Production engineering teams to improve process capability and drive yield and throughput improvements where possible
• Ensure any changes to equipment configuration are robustly tested, documented, and managed via the correct change control protocols

What you need to be the successful Equipment Engineer:
In order to be the successful Equipment Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities
• HND/HNC in electronics or mechanical engineering – or equivalent experience
• Experience of equipment maintenance and fault finding to component level in some of the following disciplines: vacuum, mechanical, robotic and electronics
• Strong personal accountability with a team working ethic and desire for timely completion of tasks
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Experience of following engineering drawings & technical instructions
Must be eligible for Security Clearance
