Head of Procurement
RDR are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Head of Procurement to be based in one of 2 locations: Birmingham or Sheffield.
We seek a procurement professional whom is educated to degree or diploma level, and possesses line manager experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent financial acumen and will ideally be a member of a chartered institution.
Key Duties for this Head of Procurement role include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for delivering challenging budgetary targets
* Identifying, monitoring and reporting on spend across a matrix of contracts
* Supporting the management and mitigation of spend at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc)
* Management of variation/change and supplier contract capture and specifications
* Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.)
* Leading in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation within the supply chain
* Enforcing commercial compliance Supporting the management of cash under supplier terms and incentive schemes
* Taking a key role in the management of contractual claims / disputes
* Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to
* To take personal responsibility & accountability for actions, constantly striving to improve and exceed expectations ensuring safety and quality are never compromised
Qualifications/Skills Required for Head of Procurement role:
* Suitable procurement, commercial and or financial / accounting or QS experience within a similar industry sector
* Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Procurement, Business, Law, Surveying, Accounting
* Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial / contracts.
* Previous line management experience
* Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution
* Excellent communicator
* Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
* Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a procurement / commercial environment
* Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
* PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
* Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems
