KS3 Teaching Assistant **

** SEN School **

** £65-£85 **

** Mon-Fri 8:30am - 15:30pm **

We are currently seeking a Determined KS3 Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming secondary school for boys and girls who have moderate or severe learning difficulties and a range of other additional needs including Autism. The KS3 Teaching Assistant must have enormous pride in helping young people develop well and in providing them with an environment in which they feel safe, well-supported and encouraged to succeed.

The aim is to help all students achieve outstanding academic and social and emotional outcomes in their everyday life.

The KS3 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

* Attend to the personal needs of pupils including the implementation of personal learning programmes that may include social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare objectives

* Supervise and support students with special educational needs in their access of learning

* Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to the needs of each individual student

* To actively promote inclusive practice within the classroom setting to ensure acceptance of all students

* Encourage students to interact with one another

* Encourage students to engage in, and participate in learning activities lead by the subject teacher

* To encourage students to act independently as appropriate

* To assist SEND students on arrival and departure from school as required

* To support the teacher in the management of pupil behaviour

* Contact with parents and carers as directed by SENDCO.

The KS3 Teaching Assistant MUST:

* A good level of English

* A Childcare qualification would be desirable (Degree or equivalent qualification)

* A Valid DBS

* Experience of working with children in an educational secondary setting

* Experience of working with children who have SEN

* Experience of working with SEN children on a one to one basis
