Supply Desk are working closely with a school in Chorlton area specialising in Autism and are looking to appoint SEN Teacher. The position will be an excellent opportunity for teachers looking for a new challenge in their teaching career. This specialist in Autism school helps build self-esteem and confidence and support students to develop their academic and social skills in preparation for adulthood.

About the role:

Working as part of an established SEN department as a SEN Teacher-Autism
Start date September 2018
Daily rate of £135 and upwards
Plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups across a range of curriculum subjects
Managing challenging behaviour
Encouraging and engaging pupils with Autism
Working closely with SENCO

About the right candidate:

Previous experience with Autism preferable but not essential
Qualified Teacher Status, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
Commitment to raise the expectations of the learner group, removing barriers to learn and delivering personalised learning
Having a “can do” attitude
A team member who is confident, adaptable and can embrace change
Exceptional social and communication skills
Display enthusiasm, be proactive, have lots of initiative and able to prioritise support
Have a real focus in classes to break down expectations and encourage learningl
