C# Developer - Manchester£45 to £50k basic + bonus + benefitsMy client, a legal Insurance services company is looking for a Senior Developer to work within the IT Development team to promote, present and deliver new and exciting technology projects to the business and their clients. The successful candidate will utilise a variety of technologies and languages depending on the nature of the task so a wide range of development skills would be advantageous. The company are the leading providers of legal and handling services to the UK general insurance sector. Currently they provide specialist services to 12 of the UK's 20 largest motor insurers in areas such as counter fraud, costs, credit hire, defendant services, large & complex injury and recoveries.Whilst their case management system is Visual Files, VF is not a requirement if you have other skills (web development or c# etc) which they can utilise and train you on the VF side.Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the firm's case management, practice management and other software systems as directed. Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the underlying case management system databases as required. Work with the Development team and act as project Leader on Development projects where required. Promote and monitor adherence to best practice standards/appropriate methodologies; ensuring that code is documented and easily understood by others and that workflows and data/document dictionaries are produced and kept updated.Provide guidance and support to Trainee Developers and mentor them in development work to assist their knowledge levels and experience of development changes.Work with the IT Development Manager and team members to analyse and recommend new software/systems in order to continuously develop company systems' functionality in line with IT Strategy and corporate standards. Adhere to agreed policies and procedures re full testing of development work before go live.Where necessary, work with the IT Development Manager to document and present IT development initiatives to the firm or to clients. Ensure that technical issues are resolved as soon as possible, provide 3rd line support where necessary and establish good communication channels between the business and our 3rd party suppliers.Assist with improvement and maintenance of the firm's databases, including rollouts, upgrades and troubleshoot database problems.Communicate effectively with IT team members, the firm's management and users to ensure they meet the needs of the business and to ensure the overall awareness of development activities across the IT team.Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
