Your new Company

Our client are an innovator within sensors for process automation. They make, supply, install and maintain scientific instruments within several industries including oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical and food & beverages. Due to expansion and growth, the company are now looking to employ 2 Internal Sales Engineers to join the sales team at the UK headquarters in Manchester.

Your new Job

You'll be responsible, as an initial point of contact for incoming enquiries via telephone and email, to prequalify customers technical and commercial requirements, and use these to produce clear and accurate quotations. You'll actively participate using the CRM for the purpose of cooperation and collaboration of business opportunities, and follow up on open opportunities with customers to negotiate on the quotations and close the sale. You'll need to manage your own customer accounts, including database management, maintenance and adherence to credit control procedures, and you will need to work closely with all departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will need to liaise with the clients product specialists and industry managers for complex applications, and communicate with service and solutions on any cross sale opportunities to develop an integrated offering and expand the sale. Taking complete ownership of any complaints, returns and any other issues that could affect customer satisfaction, and committing to practicing Customer Plus behaviors with your colleagues and customers (be realistic, be there, build trust, think ahead, communicate and make their day). Continual training will be on offer, so you will need to commit to the company performance and development review process.

Skills you need to succeed

What we will need for you to succeed is a degree equivalent education, either a technical degree, or the relevant industry qualification, as well as English Language and Maths GCSE .. You will have previous work experience within the process industry or instrumentation, or alternatively commercial sales experience. Both of those are absolutely essential. On top of those, you must be an upbeat individual, who can work under-pressure, with excellent interpersonal skills and a high regard for customer service, and be able to make decisions in the absence of a manager. You will take a consultative approach to selling by putting the customers needs first, and using your knowledge and expertise to come to a mutually agreeable solution.

Up to 12 months on the job training within the sales process
23 days holiday per year rising to 29 with length of service
Company pension contribution starts at 4% of salary when auto enrolled. After 12 months increases to 6% of salary. After 10 years rises to 8% and after 15 years 12% of salary. Staff contribute 5%.
40 hours per week (8 hours a day)
