My rapidly growing client is seeking an experienced and motivated HR & Payroll Administrator to join their team based in Somerset.

Key responsibilities

* Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll each month, in accordance with payroll calendars
* Ensuring compliance with all legal and tax requirements including the completion of P11d’s
* Reconciling monthly payroll figures and posting of monthly payroll journals to general ledger
* Compiling payroll reports to fulfil audit requirements and dealing with all payroll related audit queries
* Ensuring all payroll documentation is filed
* Issue of Offer Letters and Contracts of Employment
* Employment Reference checking
* Populate spreadsheets with captured data
* Maintenance of Monthly Spreadsheets
* Maintaining Accurate Records for the HR Databases
* Weekly processing of records for temporary workers for payment and checking invoices against these records
* Weekly management of RTWI submissions and arranging weekly Occupational Health appointments
* Conducting general inductions with new staff.
* Preparing for monthly payroll by recording all amendments, ensuring all information is available on time and in full. Check for errors and following up on queries, processing pro-rata calculations for leavers and starters.
* Generating and maintaining Personnel files and ensuring these are complete, up to date and accurate and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Skills & Experience required

* Knowledge of Payroll and HR processes and procedures
* Strong administration and high accuracy in data entry
* Communication both written and verbal
* Pro-active individual who is keen to learn with a can do attitude
* High integrity and professionalism
* Proficient with Payroll software packages – Xero advantageous, but will need to pick up new systems adeptly
* Excellent team working skills
* Ability to communicate with confidence
* High level of work accuracy
* Problem analysis and problem-solving
* Attention to detail
* The ability to plan and organise workloads and meet deadlines
* Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
* A ‘can do’ approach
* Excellent demonstrable English written and verbal communication skills
